My favorite genre of music is Anime... if Anime is even a genre. If not then I would probably say J-pop and some Rock since most of the Anime music I like are categorized in that area.

well, i like all kinds of music except for pop and hip-hop, but the best for me right now is Metal!!! specially death and power metal.

Well...Here are some bands and singers I like, but I don't know what exact genre their music belong to.

Gun & Roses
Fall out boy
Nightwish ( Gothic Rock? Am I right?)
Linkin park (There is a new song from them~~)
Gackt (Visual rock from Japan.)
Soundtracks (Lord of the ring and many others from movies, animations or games.)

Rock and pop. Preferably catchy music. Slow music will help but not used to listening to them too much. Best is those songs with the combination of the two. Catchy at parts and slow at parts. What kind of category does that fall into?

well, my MP3 file at my PC is full of anime and japanes music from all kinds of genre but acctually if it sounds good.. I like it.. ^^
